Charlotte's MICHELIN Restaurants, Star by Star

One star, one Green Star, one Bib Gourmand and nine Recommended. The star is the only one in North Carolina, and the Bib Gourmand has no working website at all.

The MICHELIN Guide reached this part of the country for the first time on 3 November 2025, when the inaugural American South selection was revealed at a ceremony in Greenville, South Carolina. Eleven restaurants inside the Charlotte city limits were named, carrying twelve designations between them. The second selection lands on 21 October 2026 in Nashville, so everything on this page is the 2025 list and is current until that evening.

The star: counter- on West Morehead Street in Wesley Heights holds one MICHELIN Star and a MICHELIN Green Star. It is the only starred restaurant in North Carolina. Chef Sam Hart runs quarterly themed tasting menus, and the Green Star rests on a published sustainability programme: more than twenty local farms, and a fermentation and preservation operation the restaurant says exists so that nothing goes to waste.

The Bib Gourmand, and the reason this site exists: Lang Van on Shamrock Drive has been cooking Vietnamese food since 1990 under owner An Nguyen, and it is the only Bib Gourmand in the city. It has no website. The domain printed for it in local coverage now redirects to a Minecraft download spam page, a second former domain bounces offsite through a tracking token, and at least six scraper pages impersonate it in search results. Charlotte's best-value MICHELIN listing publishes nothing a search engine or an AI assistant can read, and what they read instead is not it.

Recommended, nine of them. Supperland in Plaza Midwood, in a former church, also took the MICHELIN Exceptional Cocktails Award for Colleen Hughes, the only special award that came to Charlotte. Its own site is at supper.land, because supperland.com is a domain-for-sale page. Restaurant Constance on Thrift Road runs ten tables on ninety-minute seatings. Customshop is on Elizabeth Avenue. Haberdish and Ever Andalo are both on North Davidson in NoDa, under the same ownership as Supperland; Ever Andalo occupies the address Crepe Cellar used to have.

South of there: Rada on Selwyn Avenue, which also made the New York Times 2025 best restaurants list, Little Mama's beside SouthPark, Omakase Experience by Prime Fish, a counter of a few seats on Providence Road, and Prime Fish itself out in Ballantyne.

Three things we checked and would not print. One Charlotte venue's own website places a star glyph immediately before the words MICHELIN Guide; it is Recommended, not starred. The Exceptional Cocktails Award belongs to a person, not to a room, so it is recorded as hers. And a local broadcast report counted ten Recommended restaurants in Charlotte. There are nine.

Two more sit just outside the city and are not counted here: Kindred in Davidson and Hello, Sailor on Lake Norman, both Recommended, both beyond the scope of this site.
